THE ACTIVITIES :

As urbanization spreads its impact over habitable land all the greenery surrounding the Snake Park has been converted into building, factories and other buildings. Hence Calcutta Snake Park alone remains as a green patch among monuments of bricks and concretes.

The Snake Park is an organization which is meant for nature, environment and animal welfare. The main objective of this zoo is to spread awareness in the general mass regarding the importance of animals on the face of the earth. Each and every form of life including human beings has a definite role to play in nature. The eco-system bears a delicate balance between living objects and the non living associates. However animals like the snakes are widely misunderstood. They hardly ever get justice for their actions. Hence it is only through awareness that people will learn to respect nature and its components. So majority of emphasis is given to mass awareness.

Another major goal of the Snake Park is animal rescue. The Snake Park conducts rescue operation of all sorts of animals in and around Kolkata.

The Snake Park always co-operates in animal rescue programmes and also in other programmes whenever The State Forest Department requests.

Many NGO's, nature clubs and nature enthusiasts has over the years teamed upwith snake park for welfare of animals.
THE SNAKE PARK'S ACTIVITIES ARE RELATED TO CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND RECREATION.
